Tefach b’Isha Ervah on Hair & The Heter from Rav Moshe Feinstein, zt”l Clarified
Many Rabbonim have misinterpreted the “heter” given by Rav Moshe Feinstein, zt”l on allowing married women who cover their hair to leave a tefach, 2 fingers-width, of hair revealed. This is not the case as will be clarified in this post.
The heter to display a tefach of hair was given only to a specific woman and does not apply for all Jewish women.
The following video by Rabbanit Kochava Yitzchak clarifies Rav Moshe Feinstein’s, zt”l ruling.
The following contains snapshots of the pages 236-238 taken from Rabbi Eliyahu Falk’s book, “Modesty, An Adornment for Life.” One can easily view this book online through Google Books.
